Quigby was a special guy. He came to me from a rescue shelter and been abused prior to entering the shelter. He taught me so much about overcoming hurts and pain. He taught me what it takes to build trust and friendship. He died today and I will miss him so much. Though I have other dogs, Quigby will also have a very special place in my heart.
Goodbye dear friend. Love Linda

Rainy, I never thought you would leave so soon. You took care of me as much as I took care of you. I miss you so much. I miss your smile, your purr, your gentle kneading, your soft fur, your meow, your love. I miss seeing you waiting for me at the door when I arrive home and waking up next to you. Everywhere I look I think I will see you. I wish I could see you again. You will always be my best friend, my confidant, my baby-bop. Know that there are many of us who love you and miss you very much—most especially Timmy and me. Although I wish you were here. . . I imagine that you have found peace. You are playing with your brother, River. Play, sleep, roll in the sun, romp in the raindrops, dream beautiful dreams, paint the sky with your beautiful colors. . . I hope to see you someday, but for now I will see you in my memories and dreams. I love you, and you will be in my thoughts a thousand times each day for the rest of my life. Eternal Love, Beth (Mommy)

Dear Rain,

Thank you for being in my life. I will love you forever. Though it's impossibly difficult for me to believe that I'll never see you again, I have millions of memories of you that I will always cherish. I will miss you for the rest of my life. Thank you for getting to know me and thank you for showing me your love. Rest easy knowing that you made a huge difference in my life. Words could never express my eternal love for you. Good-bye best friend, little girl, Rainy-bop.

Rambo was my special friend who had been with me through thick and thin. He died a week ago, on Thursday, January 24, 2002, at fourteen and a half years old. I still remember the day I first took you home, just like it was yesterday. I look at your picture and I can't believe you're truly gone. But not in my thoughts or my heart. A part of me went with you. I will never forget you. Love, Cathy

Oh Dearest Rawhide, I came out of heart surgery & You were there waiting for me! Despite Your own pain & the suffering You have gone thru since your chemo for Lymphoma 4 years ago, your tail wagging & joyous kisses for my return from the "people Vet." You passed on 1/09 @ 1:09 pm, but I haven't been able to write a tribute until this morning. How I wish I could be with you my Friend! Just washed your Land's End Squall Jacket yesterday, guess you won't be needing it anymore. This grief is so profound and deep it's impossible to say everything we meant to one another. I know only one thing: God spelled His name backwards when he called you Dog. You were, are & will forever be my best friend. I Love You Rawhide!!!

I love you so much Razor! I'm gonna miss you. I'm going to miss you sucking on my finger and attacking my leg for no reason. I'm going to miss all that fur on my clothes. I'm going to miss that litter box smell and that little meow when you were hungry or lonely. I hope you lived a good 9 months. I know you did. You were always having fun and loving on me all the time. I love you, and someday I will see you again. ~your best friend, Brittany

My name is David and this was my best friend Ripley, a female beagle. This was the last picture taken of her at 5 months in Nova Scotia where we live. She was taken from me after she broke her lead and was struck by a car, she was only ten months old. She was the happiest dog I knew and had more life in her than I have ever seen in any dog. I will miss her dearly.

White French Poodle

from his mother Laura Roy

I love you Robert. Anything I had to do for you was such a joy. Whenever you came to me we had a hard time getting you to eat, not to be afraid of men and shivering constantly. We overcame that through love didn't we? You were beautiful, elegant in your demeanor and you walked as if you were touching pillows. I enjoyed just watching you, loving you.
You had so many expressions that were joyous. I liked it when you smiled it was so evident. I liked the way you carried yourself, straight and confident, but most of all I loved it when you would run in the yard. You would gallop, sprint like a gazelle and you were so happy, that made me happy.
You loved me totally and I returned it. My life is desolate without you, but be happy my dearest because you were starting to have so many difficulties with your sight, hearing and you weren't eating enough. I tried to cook anything that you might like, but I could see it was difficult for you and that made me very sad. I don't know if I will have a love like yours again in my life, but I thank you for the love you gave me. Thank you for being so kind to Mimi. You gave her great joy. She enjoyed feeding you especially in the morning whenever you would go over to the store and eat cookies together. Be happy dearest, thank you, and I hope we will meet and be together again in the future.

Rocket,
My old man. You and Nick are almost the same age. I never really thought about a house without you in it. You always just knew the routine. You never were any trouble. Occasionally you got into the trash, but that was my fault. I wish we had better luck with the latest drug that Dr Erickson wanted to try. I know you have a weak back end and cant help the peeing. We have tried everything. I have an appointment tomorrow morning at eleven o'clock. It doesn't seem real. Tomorrow at 11:00 AM you wont be with me any more. I still have terrible memories of taking Big Easy in for this. Frantic eyes...gasping for breath. It cant be that way. I wont let it. There wont be any pain for you anymore. Cheeser will be there to greet you.

01/05/03 - I remembered something that was worth a try. Rocket had been on Rimadyl all summer to help with his weak back legs and sore back. He went off of it some time in the Fall. The peeing started in the Fall and has gotten progressively worse. I decided to put him back on the Rimadyl and see if it worked. I am also picking up the water bowl at night. It has now been nine days since I wrote the above pre-tribute and Rocket has not had one single accident!!!!

01/12/02 - Still no accidents! But Rocket is only eating about 1/4 the amount of food he usually eats. So he's getting less than a cup of food a day.

03/11/03 - Update on my old man. Still no peeing accidents!! The incredible cold has been very, very hard on him. We've had to pick up his back end and help him into the house many times. He is like a skinny, dainty Daddy Long Legs. His legs are always akimbo. My husband thinks he is a miracle to still be around. I think he doesnt want to leave his mommy  ; )   We go in to the vet on Saturday for nail trims with Baby (my great dane) Dr Erickson will be happy to see him there just for nails!

06/29/03 - You'd think I could write a fitting tribute after posting hundreds of others on this website. It's just too hard...and it makes me appreciate the effort of them all the more. My skinny old man died in my arms today. It shouldnt have happened this way. Not like this.

09/24/03 - It has taken me three months just to write down the facts. I still cant write him a tribute. Here are the facts -
I chose the finest kennel in town for our 6 day vacation. We left on Monday and returned on Sunday (I paid extra for a 'non-pick-up day') to find him 'hosed off', shivering, semi-conscious, caked with urine and feces, emaciated, a stress bruise on each shoulder and hip that had an open sore on the end of each stress bruise - these occurred from being 'stuck' on the ground and paddling his legs...probably for hours...trying to get up. Ashley and I took him home and I called the emergency number for my vet and left a message. Our whole family just sat dazed in the living room around Rocket waiting for the return call. Rocket's eye would open just a little sometimes, but we were losing him. Finally, the vet called and said to meet us at the clinc. We gently loaded him, bed and all in the back of my truck. He was put to sleep within the hour. I hardly remember our wonderful trip to the Ozarks. It's very hard for me to hear people say what a wonderful life he had when I have to live with the fact that his last week was the hardest of his whole life. And that that skinny old face was waiting for me to come through those terrible doors that I had led him through while I went on vacation.
I suppose I need to stop doing that to myself. And if I truly believe they go to a better place, then how it ends is not how they judge us. It is how they lived and were cared for and were loved. And I do know that. It's just still so hard. Big Easy...take care of him.

To the little ones lost. I am sorry you did not get to know your mom, to see her, play with her. She grieves for you and will see you one day. SO wait for her and know she loves you. She will one day play with you in the golden sun where the rainbows abound. She will kiss you and lay with you near the stream. Know that you are loved and dearly missed. We will meet again and we will never forget you sweet little ones. So play with your sisters and brother and be patient for you will see your mother again.

Pet Tribute for three of the best cats in the world. I write this with a very heavy heart - in the last 9 months I have had to say good-bye to all three of my very special friends, Lumpy in April, Roxanne in July, and now Tovah in January. The house feels so empty without them...I love them all so much and miss them terribly. I hate feline cancer! As I held each one at the vets I told them all about the Rainbow Bridge and that they were all to go there so that I could find them again. The only thing that makes their passing seem easier to handle is that I am so grateful that they are no longer in pain. Run, play, investigate to your hearts contents my sweet babies - the bottom of my bed might be empty of your presence, but my heart will be forever full of memories, and overflowing with the love you gave to me.

Roxy
Doberman
10 years
with love from Dave & Kathy Moose
momoosette@hotmail.com
Ten years ago, we brought into our home, a 5 month old Doberman puppy.  She was scared, would shake for days, until she knew we loved her.  Through training, hard  work, she was almost able to talk to us, and knew what we said to her.  She ran like the wind, loved the water, loved our two cats, and loved us deeply.  Her place at nite was beside our bed when she slept.  Well, years of love and caring passed all to quickly, and we sadly visited the vet for her journey home to the rainbow bridge.  She was a beautiful lady in every way possible, and even though a new Doberman puppy fills our lives, her beautiful picture graces our family room.  I can imagine her looking down on us, and is very happy.  We miss you Roxy!

I can't believe she isn't with me anymore.  I am so lonely
without her. No person or other animal has ever been so close to
me.  It is hard for me to believe we will ever be together.  I
feel that some how I failed her.  It was impossible for me to be
with her when she left. I hate coming home and she isn't here.
The only thing I want is to haave more time with her.  Why did
she have to go? I need her.

Jbattej@aol.com

Ruffles was my Chinese Sharpei for 14 years, he went to sleep today @ Dr. Daniels on 1/3/05.  His nickname was Ouda, for Ouda mama's baby.  He was the best pet ever.  He was so smart even after he lost his hearing.  He would "Ouda" you when you walked in the door by placing his velvet muzzle in your hand.  My husband bought him @ Christmas, so his AKC name was Lord Nicholas McRuffles.  He continued to live w/my husband after our divorce but I visited often and he visited my home with my cocker spaniels.  He was an "old man", with total control of his environment and let my dogs know it in a certain manly way, not agressive.  He fathered my female sharpei that was put to rest last year.  Dr. Daniels gave Ruffles 2 shots today because he did not want to leave us and he is not gone forever.  We have too many beautiful memories of this beautiful mama's baby.  He was daddy's "buddy". Ruffles, I will never forget you boy, I'll never stop loving you.  Rest now, You lived a long happy life.  Love Mama

What do you say about a very special rabbit that came into your life and gave us so much joy. Rumor was the sweetest, most lovable bun you could ask for. Smart, too. She was bought at a pet store with all the intentions of giving her a good home and lots of love. It was the opposite she gave to us and loved us. We miss her tons and we know she is right up there in bunny heaven. It's so hard to not have her but we are so glad she was our pet. We never had any regrets Ru, we miss you and we will love you forever.

Russell was Bob's Black Lab. A little hard of hearing these days. A little blind, I think. Always a smile on his face and a wagging black tail. Many times when I would drive by the ranch, I would see Bob outside walking and two black labs running around. But Russell was Bob's dog. He had the kindest eyes and the sweetest face. Phoebe is lost without you. We miss and love you Russell.

Rusty was a great dog who loved his life. Although he had to leave us he truly belongs in heaven. When rusty was happy he would jump all over you, when he was scared he would scratch the walls and bark. When he was tired rusty would curl up into a little ball and lay in a quiet corner near the vent in the kitchen and sleep. Sometimes rusty would tilt his head and curl his lip and give you a curious look. he loved to eat and play but most of all love being around his family. If i could say one more thing to Rusty it would be that we love him and we all miss him. Rusty is one of heavens greatest dogs! we were lucky to have spent eleven years eight months with him. He was our special little blessing!
